You can bring up RTSS to change the display option of the overlay. For advanced users, you have options so you can further customize the graph with colors and text. The graph will appear in games as seen below and can work in tandem with Fraps. You can now choose the overlay appears if you just want it text or graph or both. You’d have to enable them first via clicking on Show in On-Screen Display. and of course FPS, frametimes, and frame percentiles. In the monitoring tab, you’ll see all the parameters that you can meter including CPU and GPU frequencies, CPU and GPU temps, how much VRAM and RAM is being used, etc. Click the monitoring tab at the top of the window. The look will vary but click on Settings or the little gear icon on the app. Then, open the MSI Afterburner and click on Settings. Personally, I believe Afterburner + RTSS is the best way to check FPS and other details while gaming. Paired together, both the apps have the capability to display FPS and other information such as RAM usage, CPU usage, and temperature, GPU usage and temperature, etc. While installing MSI Afterburner, users are given a choice to install RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS). MSI Afterburner is a popular tool for overclocking GPUs. Using MSI Afterburner & RivaTuner Satistics Server You can also choose other options apart from FPS to display more performance details in an overlay. Finally, click on Back and close the overlay.Ĭonsequently, when you launch any game on your PC, the FPS counter will display on the selected position. Also, select the FPS counter position from the monitor image above.
